Join WomenOnTheWall.org WBTM radio show Monday morning from 10 am to 11 am. We will have special guests Janice VanCleave and Mary Bowen on the show to answer any questions you may have about CSCOPE. Many will be off for Spring Break so take the time to call or e-mail your questions and we will answer them on the air live.
- MARY BOWMEN ~ a “30 yr. Texas school teacher who has thrown off her cloak of anonymity and is speaking openly about CSCOPE because she is afraid its curriculum will be whitewashed and recycled instead of kicked out of Texas schools.
- JANICE VANCLEAVE ~Retired Science Teacher who has traveled the state with her daughter Ginger Russell exposing CSCOPE. Janice’s first career was 27 years of teaching science, grades 6-12. Her second career was writing science experiment trade books for kids k-12 as well as teacher resource guides. The publisher of the 52 books- John Wiley and Sons translated them into 16 languages and they have sold world wide.
Check out Bill Ames prepared comments for the Richardson ISD.
A huge “thank you” to the eleven members of the Richardson Tea Party, who attended tonight’s (March 4) meeting of the Richardson School Board, and supported my testimony. It is turnout like this that gets the attention of the educators, and our efforts should be directed at getting more folks involved.
Testimony (limited to three minutes) follows:
Richardson ISD Board Meeting testimony
March 4, 2013
Good evening. My name is Bill Ames. I have eleven of my like-minded friends with me tonight, to represent the large group of mainstream Texas citizens that are concerned about the cancer that is eating away at our public schools in Texas.
In McAllen ISD, a student was punished for refusing to recite the Mexican pledge of allegiance.
In the Lumberton ISD, students were instructed to describe 911 Islamic terrorists as ‘Freedom Fighters”.
As parents and citizens force their way behind the curtain of CSCOPE’s secrecy and arrogance, that curriculum is revealed to contain one egregious lesson plan after another.
Christianity described as a “cult”
A “ladder of ascension” from capitalism to communism
Children asked to design a socialist/communist flag
The Boston Tea Party patriots described as terrorists
In each of these cases, educators react with denial, denial, denial.
But on January 31, when these anti-American, anti-Christian lesson plans were exposed to the Texas Senate Education Committee, chairman Dan Patrick told the CSCOPE offenders, “If your were an airline, we would ground you”.
I am sure that you are thinking, “This does not apply to Richardson ISD”.
I beg to differ………
Last week I attended open house at two Richardson ISD high schools.
In one classroom, a timeline wall display of United States history included a placard,
“1890-1920: American Imperialism”.
But for 15 years, the state standard for this period reflects not the negative, leftist term “imperialism”, but rather “expansionism”.
Students who enter that classroom every day, after 15 years of existence of the “expansionist” standard, are still being indoctrinated that America is imperialistic……..
In another history classroom in another school, a teacher revealed his story. Having tried to “balance” his presentation, a student came up to him after class, and stated, “America really sucks, doesn’t it”.
“America really sucks”…….the cancer……
It seems that we need to discuss who you work for.
You do not work for the Texas Association of School Boards.
You do not work for the Texas Association of School Administrators, whose resolution replaces academic knowledge with something called “student-centered visioning”.
You do not work for the TAMSA organization, whose easy answer to failing student and teacher performance is to eliminate testing.
Rather, you ARE accountable to the state education code, which requires that you teach the importance of patriotism, the free enterprise system, and the democratic values of our state and national heritage.
And finally, you DO work for the citizens and taxpayers of the community, and we are here tonight to help you understand that we are not pleased, when even one student leaves the classroom, indoctrinated with the attitude……..
“America really sucks”.
Thank you for listening
