GULEN-LED COUP — TURKEY FALLS TO ISLAMISTS

“While most of us have been focused on the U. S. debt ceiling and the serious implications for the world’s financial markets, meanwhile another country has just fallen to the Islamists: Turkey.

Turkey has been friendly toward the United States for many years, and one of our largest bases is in Incirlik, Turkey.  This base is essential to our operations in the Middle East.

This last Thursday (7.29.11) Reuters News Service and the British Broadcasting Company broke the news that the Islamic Prime Minister of Turkey, Tayyip Erdogan, had seized control of the government and the military when Turkey’s top four military commanders (secularists who have stood against Turkey becoming an Islamist state) resigned under pressure.” Read more here.

TURKEY UNDER ISLAMIST CONTROL EXPELS ISRAELI AMBASSADOR

“While the United States has had its attention focused on Libya and Egypt, Turkey has slipped right into the hands of the Islamists under the influence of the Gulenists.  Under the two articles posted below, I have put the article that I wrote on 8.1.11 entitled “Gulen-Led Coup — Turkey Falls to Islamists.”  Today’s decision by Turkey to expel the Israeli ambassador was an orchestrated event to move Turkey, now under Islam leadership and Sharia law, into an anti-American, anti-Israeli position.”

The Real Challenge with Governor Rick Perry

Date posted: January 2, 2012

Rick Perry can not live up to the hype.

All the money in the world will not give you the ability to debate and take on the hard core left and Obama.

Yes Perry is a great guy to sit down and have a beer with. I’ve actually done that. One on one he is engaging and nice. I don’t want engaging and nice. I want a leader who can take on the Left and the Liberal Media.

What the money is buying him now is the same as what Ron Paul seems to have.  People who must defend at all costs.

Here is a quote from Twitter today.

“Perry Krishnas are getting as bad as Paulistinians.”

When Perry and his supporters have to attack and Perry can’t run on his own record and accomplishments he has a huge problem.

We know that he did a great job of reaching the passive majority by appearing on the Letterman show, which drove home the narrative, I am not ready for the National scene.

Rick Perry’s Success Story: He Reached the Passive Majority

Date posted: November 11, 2011

But, will that keep America safe?

Voices Empower has always stressed the importance of Conservatives reaching the “Passive Majority” and driving the narrative with truth and information.

The question is………

Does the GOP have a narrative worth driving. Do we dumb down the issues and make light of the Presidential Campaign as Perry has done appearing on What does it say about our society that Rick Perry’s flub during the Presidential debate is one of the highest viewed You Tube videos of the day along with the liberal media’s coverage of sexual accusations of Herman Cain?

Where are the adults in the room?

Why is it that Rick Santorum’s speech in New Hampshire on the threat of Iran getting nuclear weapons does not make front page news? Why does it take so much work to push out a Narrative that there is a  real threat to our US National Security and a real threat to Israel if Iran gets nuclear weapons. Are we so addicted to the laugh of the day that we will not do what it takes to educate ourselves on the real issues and protect our children and our grandchildren.

Rick Santorum: The Iranian Threat

We know the world changed on 9/11, but we didn’t think it would change again so soon. With the news that Iran is literally weeks away from becoming a nuclear power, the game has changed once again.

A little over 5 years ago during an interview on Meet the Press, the late Tim Russert asked me what was the greatest threat to American security. We had been at war in Afghanistan for nearly five years and at war in Iraq for over three. Thousands of our bravest had already given what Lincoln poignantly described as the “last full measure of devotion.”

Yet there I sat, making the case Iran poses the greatest threat to our security.

I said ‘Iran’ because they have been at war with America since 1979. Iran has been a leading funder of Hezbollah – who is the provider of the most deadly weapon used against our troops in Afghanistan and Iraq, Improvised Explosive Devices or I.E.D’s – and complicit in the training of al-Qaeda. Most recently, it was uncovered that Iran sought to assassinate the Saudi ambassador on U.S. soil – an unprecedented power play directed at becoming the preeminent Middle East power while at the same time showing complete disdain and disregard for – what they call, “the Great Satan” – America.

The parallels between 1980’s Soviet Union aggression and the aggression of this Iran are shockingly similar: an aggressive, expansionist ideology; projecting regional power and causing military mischief; creating alignments in our hemisphere, including support of militant and terror organizations that can penetrate our homeland.

However, there are almost no parallels between how we dealt with the Soviet Union and how we need to deal with Iran. Reason being, mutually assured destruction worked to keep the cold war cold. Russia was an atheistic enemy who didn’t believe in an afterlife. In this case, history proves self destruction is no deterrent for Iran. In fact, the Islamists ruling Iran view dying for its cause will be rewarded in the afterlife.

There are those in Iran’s ruling elite who use religious theology as justification for building a nuclear weapon. Some even believe that bringing about great worldly chaos that would certainly occur with the destruction of Israel, would usher in the rule of the 12th Imam – or Islamic religious Savior. This week’s report by the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) now shows that these radical Islamists are on the verge of having a nuclear weapon that could allow them to do just that.

The most tragic part is we could have avoided this escalation.

While in the senate serving on the Armed Services Committee, I warned repeatedly of the threat that a nuclear Iran would be, and urged steps to avoid it becoming one. As the IAEA’s report indicates, my predictions were unfortunately right.

“As President, I would exhaust every diplomatic option before exercising military might, but we cannot take military action against Iran off the table – because a nuclear Iran is gravely dangerous for American security and Israeli survival.”

In 2004, I first authored the Iran Freedom and Support Act (IFSA) – sweeping legislation that funded pro-democracy groups in Iran and imposed real sanctions on this regime aimed at stopping Iran’s nuclear weapons program. At first, not a single Democrats nor Republicans would join me. That changed in 2005, as it became evident of Iran’s involvement in killing our troops in the region – and I collected 60 co-sponsors. In 2006, President Bush entered into negotiations with Iran – over my strong objections. I brought IFSA to the floor of the Senate for a vote making it clear to the Iranians that Congress was ready to act if the negotiations were unsuccessful. My bill faced opposition from Joe Biden and President Bush and it was narrowly defeated. A few months later, Iranian negotiations broke down and that very same bill was passed unanimously and signed by President Bush.

While many of the sanctions were implemented, neither President Bush nor President Obama implemented a key aspect of the bill that funded a movement to overthrow the Iranian regime. President Obama actually cut the funds completely and the money intended to support pro-democracy groups in Iran was never provided to them. So, when the Green Revolution erupted in 2009, we were not in good positions to help them – even if we wanted to. And unfortunately, President Obama did not want to help them, and as a result that revolution failed.

More importantly and perhaps to many, more surprisingly, the threat of a nuclear Iran is not just “over there.” Reports now show that Iran has been building alliances in our hemisphere with countries like Venezuela, through which it has been funding and supporting terrorist groups like Hezbollah. Iran is literally operating off our shores and borders with partners like Cuba and Brazil, and this country has so far, turned a blind eye to their actions and motives.President Obama naively and cavalierly once declared Iran as a “tiny country” that did not pose a serious threat. Candidate Obama wanted to negotiate with Iran, just as JFK negotiated with Khrushchev. But just as negotiations with Khrushchev failed, so has Obama’s efforts and his naivety in international diplomacy has led our nation to the brink of a nuclear Iran that neither fears nor respects American power.

To make matters worse, the Obama administration’s support of the Start Treaty has limited our ability to build a missile defense system and its political correctness has tied our border security hands behind our backs.

We must move beyond our 9/10 mentality – ignoring clear threats. We must broaden our 9/11 mentality – solely focusing on a shadowing terrorist network thousands of miles away. Instead, we must immediately understand that we are facing a new enemy and entering a new age of international threats to this country and he allies.

The threat is here and it is now. We must work with Israel to determine the proper military response needed to stabilize the region, protect our allies and protect this country – if that includes targeted airstrikes on Iranian nuclear facilities, then I am prepared to authorize that action. In addition, nuclear scientists who stand with Ahmadinejad must know that if they help the regime, they are enemies of the United States and they will be treated as such. In response to this latest revelation outlined in the IAEA’s report, I would work with Israel to eliminate the Iranian nuclear threat immediately and put provisions in place to assist any pro-democracy uprising in the Iran.

As President, I would exhaust every diplomatic option before exercising military might, but we cannot take military action against Iran off the table – because a nuclear Iran is gravely dangerous for American security and Israeli survival. America must again be a leader for peace in the world, and leading against Iran is the most critical place to start. As President, I will commit to do just that.

The consultant says a lot about the candidate- UPDATED

Date posted: September 25, 2011

Interesting to note, Chris Turner referenced in the article below was at the training session I taught with Anita Moncrief during CPAC -AFP’s Right ON-Line in Florida on Friday.

Also interesting to note- (See the screen shot below) taken from Murphy Turner Associates FaceBook wall.

“More big news from Murphy Turner: Firm partner Wayne Hamilton officially named National Political Director for Perry for President!”

More big news from Murphy Turner: Firm partner Wayne Hamilton officially named National Political Director for Perry for President!”

Please take special notice in the article below.

“Like Eppstein, Murphy Turner has a direct connection to House Speaker Joe Straus, working for his re-election. Murphy Turner accepted direct payments from the Speaker for ad work, according to Texas Ethics Commission records.

Additionally, Murphy Turner has worked for moderate Republican Jim Pitts from Waxahachie for years. Pitts has been a thorn in the collective conservative side since his rise to power alongside moderate House Speaker Joe Straus.”

It is time for “Conservative Information Pushers” to flip the funnel.

I have a feeling Chris Turner did not appreciate the Flipping the Funnel slide during my presentation.

The question now is….. why is Gov. Rick Perry using the same Political Consulting team as Speaker of the House Joe Straus?

After the results from the Florida Straw Poll that may not have been the best idea.

” Cain carried 37% of the vote, Perry 15% and former Massachusetts governor Mitt Romney 14%. Former Pennsylvania senator Rick Santorum was at 11%, Texas Rep. Ron Paul at 10% and former House speaker Newt Gingrich at 9%.”

Another great article by Daniel Greer from the AgendaWise.com team.

How do you know if a “conservative” candidate is or isn’t conservative? How can you know what a candidate’s promises are worth?

One of the most important factors is something average Texans aren’t up to speed on: political consultants. A candidate’s political consultant speaks volumes.

Last month Mike Hailey of the Capitol Inside opened the door to this issue, highlighting a race between Bennett Ratliff and Matt Rinaldi. Hailey rightly used campaign consultants as a proxy for House Speaker politics, with consultant Bryan Eppstein on the Speaker’s side and consultant Kevin Brannon on the conservative side. Bryan Eppstein represents several other Speaker allies besides Ratliff.

Eppstein has a consistently liberal client track record. Other consultants have tracked a different course.

Comprised of consultants Craig Murphy, Chris Turner, and Wayne Hamilton, the “Murphy Turner” client lineup has, over time, gone from shaky to bad.

Like Eppstein, Murphy Turner has a direct connection to House Speaker Joe Straus, working for his re-election. Murphy Turner accepted direct payments from the Speaker for ad work, according to Texas Ethics Commission records.

Additionally, Murphy Turner has worked for moderate Republican Jim Pitts from Waxahachie for years. Pitts has been a thorn in the collective conservative side since his rise to power alongside moderate House Speaker Joe Straus.

A google news search for Jim Pitts reveals he has recently been embroiled in a controversy over hosting an event for LGBT political activists at his home in Highland Park. The posh suburb North of Dallas is not part of Pitts’ district. The Texas Republican Party platform, which Pitts bi-annually runs on, promotes laws protecting traditional values.

Once upon a time Murphy Turner counted conservative State Rep. Bill Zedler as a client. While a Murphy Turner client, Zedler lost his 2008 election to Democrat Chris Turner (no relation to Chris Turner of Murphy Turner). In 2010 Zedler hired a new consultant. Murphy Turner recruited a new client to challenge Zedler. Zedler won the primary over Murphy Turner’s moderate selection.

They failed to take out Zedler in 2010 but succeeded in taking out a stalwart conservative in 2008. Nathan Macias was replaced with Doug Miller who, in two subsequent sessions, has failed to live up to Macias’s conservative record.

Consultant influence doesn’t stop at elections.

Consultants often wear the pants in the relationship, given that they often recruit the candidate. Consultants know which crowd can fund campaigns and often steer their canddiate to be in the right crowd.

Knowing your candidate’s mettle is made easier by knowing which political consultant represents them.

D.C. Blogger Perpetuates Media Myths

Date posted: August 5, 2011

One more great post from Weston Hicks with Agenda Wise.com

Washington Post blogger Jennifer Rubin provided an example of why Republicans have been losing for so long today, when she dismissed Rick Perry in strong terms for his efforts to reform higher education in Texas.

Adjusted for inflation, tuition at The University of Texas has tripled in cost since 1986, with no corresponding improvement in services, and even less interest in the trend. Higher ed is the one sector in America that makes ballooning medical costs look tame.

The problem starts with a higher ed establishment that has virtually no meaningful accountability and transparency. Recent data in Texas, gotten from the higher ed establishment with great grumbling and difficulty, shows the 80-20 rule in full form at the University of Texas, with about 20% of the faculty carrying the load.

Even still, Rubin was more than ready to label reform efforts “crackpot”, satisfied with false reports, being pushed by the higher ed establishment, that reformers have already decided how to fix the problem.

This is a lie. In her instinctive rush to throw in with the establishment, Rubin and the Washington Post perpetuated this myth.

In truth, preparations to examine teaching, research, and money-spending were all that was required for higher ed and friendly liberal media to settle into the high-pitched fear mongering that Rubin has now clumsily assisted.

In truth, our country is in desperate need of people with the courage to ask difficult questions about wasted money in government. Higher ed is a glaring example, and Texas forces, including the Governor, have challenged the status quo.

Rubin’s scathing tweets followed a Washington Post article by Karen Tumulty, which was itself a regurgitation of talking points from Texas media sources, primarily the George Soros funded “Texas Tribune”. Like the Tribune it seems the Washington Post can be counted on to reflexively protect liberal power.

However, Rubin, part of the “love me too” conservative crowd in D.C., gave us an example of why conservatives have managed to get routed despite enjoying popular majorities on virtually every political issue.
