Mexican Immigrants Need Assimilation, Not Separation

For example, when my father was young the League of United Latin American Citizens (LULAC) pursued a very different goal than it does today. Author Benjamin Marquez verifies this in his book “Constructing Identities in Mexican-American Political Organizations: Choosing Issues, Taking Sides”. LULAC’s original goal in 1929 was topromote the full assimilation of its members into U.S. Anglo-Saxon culture. They believed assimilation, the same pathway as every other immigrant group, was the best strategy to combat discrimination in south Texas. They even asserted that it was not the economic or political intuitions that were flawed but discrimination was the result of racism alone.

LULAC promoted capitalism and individualism, and believed that through hard work and assimilation Mexican Americans could improve themselves. They emphasized American patriotism, and asserted that Mexican Americans should disavow any allegiance to Mexico, remain permanently in the United States, and commit fully to the democratic ideals of the U.S. Their patriotism was evident by the group’s official song “America”, and claiming its official language as English, and even used its official prayer as the “George Washington Prayer”.

However, since the 1970s, liberals claim “the system” is the problem, and claim Mexican Americans and Mexican aliens are victims of the same “class struggle” against capitalism and racism. Groups like National Council of La Raza and the AFL-CIO have partnered to promote cultural separatism. Saul Alinsky groups like Valley InterFaith and COPS/Metro have organized local groups to further their economic and political agenda.

Still other groups like Mexican American Legal Defense and Education Fund (MALDEF) have fought legal battles for voting rights and representation that only segregate Mexican Americans instead of integrating and assimilating them. New leaders such as San Antonio’s Mayor Julian Castro and his twin, U.S. Congressman Joaquin Castro, like to speak about “Hispanic” and “Latino” issues, as if Cuban Americans, Puerto Ricans, Central, and South Americans all have the same history, national identity, and socio-economic status.

Texans of Mexican decent have been displaced socially, economically, and politically by Mexican aliens since the U.S.-Mexican border was created. Mexican Americans moved north to places like Chicago and Kansas City because the standard of living was depressed in south Texas by Mexican aliens. Poor and undereducated Mexican Americans have suffered the most from this competition, but liberals want to lump them together for their own political gain.

Billions of public dollars have been spent on south Texas since the “War on Poverty” began in the 1960s, and it is still poor because of the uncontrolled Mexican influx into the region. To help poor Mexican Americans in south Texas, we need a secure border, no amnesty for illegal aliens, and an assimilation policy for all immigrants. I am proud of my Mexican (not Hispanic or Latino) heritage but I am an American first, thanks to my parents.

Amnesty ~ Workers ~ National Security Threat

Date posted: January 30, 2013

By Michael Cutler

It is not “anti-immigrant” to want to secure America’s borders or enforce America’s immigration laws- our borders and our immigration laws exist for just two primary purposes- to protect innocent lives and protect the jobs of American and lawful immigrant workers of every race, religion and ethnicity by preventing the entry of aliens into the United States whose presence would be harmful to America and Americans and to seek their removal if they succeed in entering the United States and/or violate the terms of their admission after they are admitted into the United States.

Title 8, United States Code, Section 1182 enumerates the various categories of aliens who are to be excluded from the United States. A review of those categories makes the intention and importance of our immigration laws, our borders and the inspections process crystal clear. Among the classes of aliens who are supposed to be excluded from the United States are who suffer from dangerous communicable diseases. Aliens who suffer extreme mental illness and are prone to violence or are sex offenders (rapists and pedophiles). Additional categories of excludible aliens include convicted felons, drug traffickers, human traffickers, money launderers, human rights violators, war criminals, terrorists and spies.

Finally, aliens who would seek to work illegally or become public charges are also to be kept out of the United States.

Immigration is not a single issue but a singular issue that impacts nearly every challenge and threat confronting the United States today! The two primary goals of our country’s immigration laws are to protect innocent lives and protect the jobs of American and lawful immigrant workers. Our armed forces are charged with securing America’s borders externally while the DHS is supposed to secure those same borders from within!

If our government’s failures to protect American jobs by securing our nation’s borders and effectively enforcing our immigration laws concerns you or especially if it angers you, I ask you to call your Senators and Congressional “Representative.

This is not only your right- it is your obligation!

All I ask is that you make it clear to our politicians that we are not as dumb as they hope we are!

We live in a perilous world and in a perilous era. The survival of our nation and the lives of our citizens hang in the balance.

This is neither a Conservative issue, nor is it a Liberal issue- simply stated, this is most certainly an AMERICAN issue!

You are either part of the solution or you are a part of the problem!

Norm Adams and Steve Hotze are at it again~ Immigration

Date posted: June 7, 2012

Reported today from the Texas Republican Convention!

The 2010 “Immigration”section of the Republican Party Platform has been removed and now contains the Norm Adams/Steve Hotze Rino Language that allows cover for any Pro-Amnesty, Open Borders, Free Flow Human Trafficking vote.

Here is a reminder of why Norm Adams and Steve Hotze are: When Republicans Deceive: Pay for Play~ Steve Hotze is Not A Conservative Republican

Get ready Tea Party Grassroots Delegates and Alternates~
We must move, during voting on the Platform to replace the 2012 Proposed Language with the 2010 language.

This is a fight worth fighting for!!

WHY is this a problem for Texans besides the fact that we do not have the funds to provide social services for Mexican citizens. ~ It is not only Hispanics who are coming into our State through our virtually open borders. This is a National Security Issue!!

While border security is indeed a federal issue, the interior enforcement of the rule of law is very much a state matter. It is the constitutional responsibility of a state to protect the life, liberty, and property of its citizens and legal residents.” ~ JoAnn Fleming

It seems as though David Dewhurst and Gov. Perry have many of the same financial backers, so it is no surprise that Gov. Perry has come out so strongly in favor of David Dewhurst. But let’s take a look at what it is these financial backers have in common…….

Did you know that it was not only the Democrats who stopped the Texas Anti-Sanctuary Cities Legislation during the 82nd legislative session. That’s right it was Texas’ largest Republican donors and now we find that all the key players who Killed the Sanctuary Cities Bill in the 2011 session arebacking David Dewhurst.

Neal Jones of Hill Co Partners who lobbied against Sanctuary Cities Legislation in Texas is backing David Dewhurst.

Charles Butt CEO of HEB and killer of Sanctuary Cities in Texas is backing David Dewhurst.

Bob Perry the home builder key player in supporting PAC that stopped the Sanctuary Cities Legislation is backing David Dewhurst.

Don’t miss the opportunity to hear what Grassroots and Tea Party people think about the job David Dewhurst and the Texas Leadership have done. Watch this video and get the real story on the Texas Budget and the effect of illegal Immigration on our state.
JoAnn Fleming, Chair – Advisory Committee to the TEA Party

Why should the sanctuary cities issue matter to you?

1) Sanctuary cities can harbor illegals that represent a national security threat.  Those who are a threat to this country naturally gravitate to places where they feel safest from the rule of law.

2) Sanctuary cities harbor people who are a threat to the lives of citizens and legal immigrants.  Too many law enforcement officers, citizens, and legal immigrants have lost their lives at the hands of illegals.  See the Remembrance Project  website: http://theremembranceproject.org/Sanctuary

3) Sanctuary cities are strong magnets for those who come here to exploit the social safety net for free health care and all manner of taxpayer-funded government hand-outs.  These sanctuaries are magnets for those who want to work under the radar, and they enable businesses that want to employ cheap labor.

4) Sanctuary cities allow Mexico and other foreign countries to exploit the United States and our lack of enforcement of the rule of law.

As we enter this important election year, our voices must unite in defense of preborn American citizens who cannot defend themselves.

News Conference – Texas Grassroots Leaders Deliver “Open Letter to Governor Rick Perry”

What: News Conference – Texas Grassroots Leaders Deliver “Open Letter to Governor Rick Perry”

Subject: Governor Perry and the Unfinished Business of the Texas Legislature:  Interior Enforcement of Illegal Immigration Laws and Ending Sanctuary Cities

Where: Texas State Capitol, Speaker’s Press Room

When: Monday, September 19th, 11:00 am

At the close of the 2011 regular and special legislative sessions, a broad coalition of local grassroots organizations in Texas signed an open letter calling on Texas Governor Rick Perry to address the urgent unfinished business of emergency legislation personally identified by Governor Perry at the beginning of the 82nd legislative session – namely, a ban on “sanctuary city” policies in Texas.  Since the letter was posted, over 3,000 local activists have signed on to the letter, including representatives of over 100 local tea party, 9-12 and related grassroots groups.  Some of the signers will be present to address media questions before personally delivering the letters to Governor Perry’s office. A copy of the letter will also be forwarded to his campaign for President.

Two of the leaders who will speak at the news conference:

Maria Espinoza, Co-Founder of The Remembrance Project

“My father migrated from Mexico, legally, and became a U.S. citizen. He came to the US because he knew the great opportunities America offered.   Today, things are very wrong in Texas! Our elected officials have failed to serve and protect citizens and legal residents of Texas. They have failed to remove sanctuary city policies throughout Texas. They have failed to enforce the law. They should protect our Texas families and those who protect us – law enforcement officers. Sanctuary city policies have cost the lives of five Houston police officers and left another officer seriously impaired.   It is time our state officials took care of this unfinished business.”
