Rick Santorum continues to build his offensive line in Texas.
Last week I wrote about Rick Santorum living in the pocket of faith…….. and it looks like he is continuing to build his offensive line. A pocket of faith is the same concept as The passing pocket a term used in football to describe the area in the backfield that is created on a passing play where the offensive line forms a wall of protection around the quarterback to protect him. This allows him adequate time to find an open receiver and pass the ball for a score! As Rick Santorum says…
“Over 200 conservative leaders met in Texas over the weekend to strategize and raise money for presidential candidate Rick Santorum.”
“The message was, ‘we’re all in,'” Bob Fischer, a South Dakota businessman and one of the event’s organizers, told Politico Saturday.
The Houston Omni event raised a combined $1.78 million for the campaign and super PAC, according to organizers.
Family Research Council President Tony Perkins and James Dobson, founder and former president of Focus on the Family, were among the leaders present at the event. Besides Fischer, conservative columnist Rebecca Hagelin, campaign fundraising pioneer Richard Viguerie, and Tim LeFever also played host.
Santorum met with the group on Friday night and told them he has a chance to win, but needs their help, Perkins told Politico. Perkins also said that Santorum would have a better chance if Newt Gingrich withdrew from the race and Gingrich supporters backed Santorum.
The next contests for the Republican presidential nomination will be on Tuesday in Alabama and Mississippi. Recent polls show Gingrich, Romney and Santorum in a three-way tie in Alabama and Romney leading in Mississippi with about 35 percent support.
From what we see playing out across this country, I know that God is bringing Americans of all faiths and backgrounds to form a “pocket of faith” around Rick Santorum.
Rick is the only candidate who can bring together 4 major voting blocks that if we vote we beat Barack Obama.
1. Catholics ( Romney has a Catholic problem moving forward……)
2. Evangelicals
3. Jews ( Rick Santorum is clearly the strongest candidate on Israel) Jews for Rick Santorum: US Needs to Do More Than Talk on Iran
4. Blue Collar Manufacturing workers. My Economic Freedom Agenda
Below is video of some of Santorum’s remarks before the group of Pastors in McKinney, Texas.
The young Jewish men below are supporters of Rick Santorum. They came to meet Senator Santorum at the Texas event held in Plano because they understand that Israel has no better friend than Rick Santorum.
Santorum at AIPAC: “If Iran Doesn’t Get Rid of Nuclear Facilities, We’ll Tear Them Down Ourselves”
Washington, DC – On this all-important Super Tuesday, Republican Presidential Candidate Rick Santorum stepped away from the campaign trail to personally address the American Israel Public Affairs Committee (AIPAC) in Washington, DC regarding the vital national security threat facing both the United States and Israel.
