“Does Santorum Want To Be Vice President?”

Date posted: March 30, 2012

By Donna Garner

The news headlines on Tuesday, 3.27.12, screamed:

“Santorum: ‘Of Course’ I Would Serve As Romney’s Vice President

GOP Contest Nearing End, Santorum Will Take Vice President

Santorum, Are You Ready for Vice President?

Rick Santorum for President

To the casual reader, these headlines sent out a clear and intended message that the Santorum supporters should just fold up their tents and go home.

However, it is the liberal media and the country club Republicans who have arbitrarily chosen Romney as the GOP candidate – not the common, everyday, working people who make up the majority of this country.

The leftwing media obviously wants Obama to win and believes Romney would be easily defeated by Obama because RomneyCare is the twin sister to ObamaCare.

When I read the Santorum-VP headlines, I immediately knew something was terribly wrong because nothing could be further from Santorum’s mind than to throw in the towel and let Romney win.

Santorum intends to win the Presidency and is expending all of his time and energy toward that end. His poll numbers are rising.

As of 3.28.12, Public Policy Polling (PPP) found:

Romney and Santorum are tied for the lead.

Mr. Santorum has gained as Mr. Gingrich has declined.

If Gingrich dropped out of the race, Santorum would open up a 6 point lead in North Carolina with 43% to 37% for Romney and 13% for Paul.

The Nebraska poll shows Santorum solidly ahead 39%-25% over Romney.

Santorum has won 9 states, and the Louisiana exit polls prove that Santorum’s economic plan resonates with voters. Santorum won 46% to 30% among economy voters in Louisiana.

The Santorum Team has realistic prospects of mounting enough support to come out of the GOP Convention as the winner.

Santorum and his millions of hard-working supporters are certainly not thinking about settling for his becoming the Vice President under Romney.

It has taken me a few days to track down the genesis of this Santorum-VP rumor, and I believe I finally have traced it back to comments Santorum made in an interview with David Brody on CBN News on 3.26.12

David Brody: If he for some reason asks you to be the vice presidential candidate on his ticket? I know, after is all said and done. Would you even consider it?

Rick SantorumOf course. I mean, look. I would do in this race as I always say, this is the most important race in our country’s history. I’m going to do everything I can. I’m doing everything I can. I’m out there. In the last 10 months, I’ve had five days off. Two for Thanksgiving, and three for Christmas.

I’ve been working every single day. My wife and my kids, we’re just busting our tail, because we know their future and all of our children’s future is at stake in this election. And I don’t want to be the guy who has to sit with my granddaughter, 20 years from now, and tell stories about an America where people once were free. I don’t want to have that conversation.

Brody: So, you’re keeping your options open.

Santorum: I’ll do whatever is necessary to help our country.

(3.26.12, CBN News,TheBrody File —  :Exclusive: Rick Santorum Doesn’t Rule Out Possible VP Slot: ‘I’ll do whatever is necessary to help our country.’

Santorum absolutely did not say nor even intimate, “Of course, I want to be Romney’s Vice President.” Santorum obviously was saying that he would do absolutely anything to keep our country from losing its freedom, even if it meant (heaven forbid) taking the Vice Presidency.

Then the next day on 3.27.12, CBS with its usual bias posted this glaring headline:  “Santorum: ‘Of Course’ I Would Serve As Romney’s Vice President.” The other media outlets immediately jumped on this misinformation and sent their biased articles pouring across the entire country.

Let’s look at some of the other statements that Santorum made in this CBS article and see if it sounds as if Santorum plans to give up his run for the Presidency to become Romney’s Vice President. Also, let’s notice how CBS twisted what Santorum actually said the day before on CBN:

…Santorum has called Romney ‘the worst Republican in the country’ to challenge President Barack Obama, but in a subsequent interview he said he would consider serving as Romney’s running mate.

‘This [healthcare] is the most important issue in this election,’ Santorum declared outside the Supreme Court on Monday while attorneys inside debated the constitutionality of the president’s health care law. ‘There’s one candidate who’s uniquely disqualified to make the case. That’s the reason I’m here and he’s not.’

Seizing on the health care debate as Romney focuses on the nation’s economy, Santorum is fueling tea partyers’ lingering skepticism about the former Massachusetts governor, who signed into law a state-based health care program that helped inspire Obama’s plan…

‘He’s [Romney] the worst candidate to go against Barack Obama on the most important issue of the day,’ Santorum said Monday, highlighting the Massachusetts health care law Romney signed in 2006. It requires all Massachusetts residents to purchase insurance, the same ‘individual mandate’ in question in Obama’s law.

‘Gay marriage went into effect under Gov. Romney. Fifty-dollar abortions went into effect under Gov. Romney, and free abortions for low-income people under Romney,’ Santorum said in Sheboygan, Wis.  (CBS News – DC – 3.26.12 —

http://washington.cbslocal.com/2012/03/27/santorum-of-course-i-would-serve-as-romneys-vice-president/

It is safe to conclude that

(1) Santorum definitely is not giving up his Presidential run,

(2) the distortion of Santorum’s words is a desperation move on the part of Romney, who is growing more frustrated as his popularity either mainlines or drops, and

(3) the liberal media is deadset on getting its man Obama re-elected.

The good news is that so long as we seek out the truth, listen to the candidates ourselves, review their actual transcripts, and overlook the bias that the media tries to throw at us, our candidate, Rick Santorum, will be the next President of the United States.

Got an E-mail today from David Carney/David Dewhurst Campaign and it inspired this post.

Date posted: March 29, 2012

Political consultant Dave Carney in November 2010.

Okay I just got an e-mail from David Carney (Governor Perry’s former head haunch-O) You can read about him, he is what some describe as Rick Perry’s Karl Rove.   Since I am not a big fan of Karl Rove that is not a very impressive analogy. When I saw the name in my inbox I thought this is going to be interesting, and well, it was.

Looks like Mr. Carney was needing a new job and so he has signed on with the David Dewhurst team. Man does David Carney know how to pick em’. Another candidate that the pundits and political elite tell us is the inevitable candidate because they have all the money in the world and a ground game to win.

I have to say I think David Carney was right on target when he developed the grassroots strategy for the Perry Campaign. Carney understood that it is the grassroots and actual voters who win elections.

The challenge for David Dewhurst and David Carney is that we are in transformational times and the average voter is more educated on the issues than ever before. We don’t believe the propaganda pushed out by their campaigns. Like the challenge Carney faced with  Gov. Perry unless you can back up the propaganda with a truly consistent Conservative, Texans are not going to buy what you  are peddling.

Here is what David Carney a man who has been described as “a ruthless political consultant,” wrote.

1)      Since stepping down as a government lawyer nearly four years ago, Ted Cruz has become a high-ranking owner and partner with Morgan Lewis & Bockius, a law firm with a long record of contributing overwhelmingly to Democrats.

2)      One of Morgan Lewis’highest profile clients whom the feature on the firm’s web site, is none other than renowned liberal sugar daddy George Soros, a billionaire hedge fund manager Cruz’s law firm represents.

3)      According to the Dallas Morning News, Soros is personally responsible for spending $24 million dollars to defeat President George W. Bush in 2004. And Ted’s own lawn firm has thrown hundreds of thousands of dollars to President Barack Obama’s campaign. These are Ted’s bankrollers and colleagues.

Ted Cruz is a Hypocrite:

When government bureaucrat and trial lawyer Ted Cruz is not co-opting Attorney General Greg Abbott’s conservative record as his own, he is railing against Agenda 21.”

Here is a statement from the Cruz Campaign that I received after questioning them on the law firm Ted Cruz works for.

Let me get this straight? David Dewhurst, who looks in the mirror and sees an ‘unapologetic’ conservative — despite his own record of increasing state spending and proposing a new ‘wage tax’ — thinks that Texas conservatives will disregard Ted’s conservative record because some of the nearly 3000 people who work at the same law firm he does are Democrats and some of the thousands of clients of that firm are liberal?  Dewhurst is desperate to hide from his own tax-and-spend record.  This is yet another silly attack from the Dewhurst campaign, which shows just how scared Dewhurst is that conservatives and grassroots activists are overwhelmingly uniting behind Ted Cruz.  Voters are rightly focused on the record of each candidate:  Ted’s record as a strong conservative fighter is undeniable, as is Dewhurst’s record as an Establishment moderate.

First of all had Dewhurst showed up at the many town-hall meetings and forums that he was invited to he would know that Ted Cruz has no challenge showing up and answering the questions of the voters. That is how he has earned their vote and their loyalty and the polls show it. I have a feeling that is why Dewhurst hired Carey and is going  negative and hard, but the people know Cruz and we know Dewhurst. Cruz has earned our support, Dewhurst has earned a pink slip.

1. David Dewhurst is a no show when grassroots organization try to have him out to answer questions about his record.

Why is that? Is it that he does not have a Conservative record to run on. It truly is a shame that the Cruz campaign has been give the opportunity to  drive that narrative with videos like the one below and be right on target. .

David Dewhurst – Does He Have the Guts to Show?

2. It looks as though Dewhurst has another issue:  Dewhurst using Enron math on school finance issue

Here are a few key excerpts from the article.

Lt. Gov. David Dewhurst, a successful Houston businessman, prides himself on his fluency with numbers. When it comes to Texas public schools, however, Dewhurst mangles the one question that should come effortlessly to a good CEO: What’s the bottom line?

In Houston recently to campaign for the U.S. Senate, Dewhurst claimed the state of Texas this year appropriated more money for public education than ever before in its history. It’s technically true, in the way that Enron was technically a viable company. So here’s the real bottom line, summing up the entire financial picture: Texas public schools now have less money than ever to educate our schoolchildren. Saying otherwise is just “balderdash,” says Rep. Garnet Coleman, D-Houston.

Speaking to the Houston Republican Jewish Coalitionlast week, Dewhurst assured his audience that our schools were flush with cash. “We appropriated more money for public education than we have ever appropriated in the state of Texas,” he asserted. People complaining about public school funding “have a problem with math. The facts are the facts.”

But, as any Houstonian can tell you, there’s math, and then there’s Enron Math. Here, Dewhurst is engaging in Enron Math, spotlighting one number from the state appropriations bill that doesn’t tell the whole story – just as Enron looked profitable if you didn’t know about those pesky off-balance-sheet losses.”

Be sure and read the rest of the referenced article above. It is a good one. Dewhurst using Enron math on school finance issue

3.  How Conservative is David Dewhurst? The record shows….. Moderate!

“Dewhurst frequently used his powers of agenda control to help pass legislation opposed by the most conservative members of the Republican delegation. In addition, the best estimate of Dewhurst’s location along the liberal-conservative continuum which dominates voting in the Texas Senate suggests he is significantly less conservative than approximately one-third of the Republican delegation.

The lieutenant governor exercises considerable control over the legislative process in the Texas Senate. Among other things, he names all committee and subcommittee chairs and members, decides to which committees bills are assigned, and through his appointed committee chairs and members indirectly determines which bills make it to the floor for a final passage vote. In addition, unlike the speaker of the House, the lieutenant governor is directly elected by voters, and therefore enjoys a greater level of autonomy than his counterpart on the other side of the Capitol.

By using his power of negative agenda control, the lieutenant governor is able to prevent bills he opposes from being finally approved. Through his power of positive agenda control, he is potentially able to engender the crafting of legislation he prefers in such a way that it will receive majority support in a final vote. Given these powers (particularly negative agenda control), we should rarely see legislation opposed by the lieutenant governor winning final approval. As a result, one can reasonably infer that those senators with the highest win rates during the 2011 legislative session are ideologically most proximate to the lieutenant governor.”

So as for me and my family we will continue to support Ted Cruz, Mr. Carey. Thank you for your e-mail today it actually inspired me to inform my friends and neighbors who are everyday voters exactly what I know about David Dewhurst.

My question to you is do you trust a man who effectivly stopped good Conservative legislation such as the TSA bill and the Sanctuary Cities legislation and a man who was a part of creating the 2013 planned budget shortfall. Rick Santorum; Why Women Love Him Like Crazy?

Date posted:

First Watch and Listen to this Video: Then let’s talk PolitiJim.

Rick Santorum’s message and campaign represents all of those American men who love like crazy and when asked how they do it they say…..

Through Faith and Sweat and the heart of a faithful women who never lets him forget to be her best friend, who tells the truth, and knows to over use I LOVE YOU.

Go to Work, Do Your Best, Don’t outsmart your common sense, never let your prayin’ knee’s get lazy, and LOVE LIKE CRAZY………..

You see PolitiJim women will do anything to protect their families and Santorum understands and can clearly articulate that ECONOMICS IS A FAMILY ISSUE! That is why we support him.

Let me first commend you on your retraction of calling women who support Santorum SLUTSS. Although I believe those who read it will find parts of it to be just as disturbing as the first article you wrote about it.  Lines like this don’t fly little birdy.

“The whole “Santorum Lovers Unwilling TSoberly Syllogize” was just me being me.  Edgy, Witty, Funny (at least to non-Santorum’s), irreverent and unvarnished, packing a punch of raw truth without really caring what people thought.  That’s me, I think.  And I never was insinuating any sexual aspersions, just political truths that some Republicans will “sleep” with any candidate who they think will pay them a little attention or validate their world view regardless of what THEY really stand for or are qualified to do.

As for what Voices Empower is qualified to do. You make some pretty far fetched statements while paying little attention to facts. I am not sure who your tea party network is in Texas but I would be careful in saying that Voices Empower came from out of nowhere. By the way I hope you will be at the True The Vote National Summit so I can meet you in person. I happen to know Catherine very well and actually covered the Nov. 2010 election from the King Street Patriots command center. I was honored to learn so much from my dear friend Anita Moncrief as we covered Black Panther leader Quanell X  together.  I actually wrote an article for Focus on the Family Citizen Link on the King Street Patriots and the amazing work that they are doing. I will bring a copy for you to the summit if you will be there. I am assuming you will be since the e-mail you sent says you are so involved with them.

Interesting to note politico is reporting Santorum Wins Over Conservative Women.

Maybe we should be asking ourselves what my good friend Foster Friess asks…..
Do we want to be governed by Rules and Regulations or Inspired by Values and Virtues.

As a wife who loves my husband like crazy and appreciates how hard he works for our family to survive in these crazy times I can tell you I will stand by his side fearlessly to defend a couple like Rick and Karen Santorum when they are mocked and criticized  by a Tea Party Leader who seems to care little for values and virtues.

You see Jim your rants mocking conservative women are not winning votes for your candidate. If anything the content that you and Katrina have pushed has done more harm than good.

I do hope I have given you a little food for thought because in the end, after the primary we have all got to be on the same team to fight the real threat to America, Barack Obama! I can tell you no matter who the Republican Candidate is I will be doing everything in my power to get him elected.

Blessings are truly abundant in American but we must fight daily to keep it that way!

Voices Empower is calling you to action:

Here is what will be on the agenda.

~ Driving the Narrative

The political elite have been extremely successful at pushing their agenda into communities.  This has been done by controlling the mainstream media and using the Acorn model of going into the community, creating relationships, and organizing messengers to push their agenda using New Media/ Social Media.

But when Conservatives are empowered to drive the narrative we can reverse the stronghold of the political establishment therefore affecting the 2012 primary and general elections.

We will train Conservative Information Pushers to push back the political elite’s narrative and tell their friends and neighbors about who they will be voting for.

As Foster Friess says….. “Do we want to be governed by rules and regulations or do we want to be inspired by virtues and values.”

~Texas Primary

The Process for who we elect as a TEXAS DELEGATE to the GOP National Convention

We are so fortunate to have Dianne Edmondson who has prepared this information for us. This will be key in organizing should we go to an Open Convention in Tampa, Florida.

“Since the Texas delegation will be bound for the first ballot at the National Convention based upon the proportional vote in the Primary for each of the Presidential candidates, National Delegates will not be “assigned” to any one candidate, but the 155 votes will be reported proportionately to the CD and statewide May 29 Primary vote.  If no candidate is nominated on that first ballot, the Texas National Delegates will be free to vote for whomever they choose on the second and succeeding ballots. Thus it is very important to send as National Delegates people who will be a second-ballot vote for the candidate you support.”~ Dianne Edmondson

~Flipping the Funnel

We will be taking the methods of the Rick Santorum Grassroots campaign and implementing them for the state and local level races. This information will be key for all grassroots candidates who will be running against moderate incumbents such as Joe Straus.

Our training in San Antonio this past weekend was a huge success and we want to keep that momentum moving forward to elect Consistent Conservatives such as Matt Beebe.

and Presidential Candidate Rick Santorum

Gingrich shakes up campaign, cuts staff

Date posted:

Gingrich shakes up campaign, cuts staff

Posted by Aaron Blake and Chris Cillizza

Newt Gingrich’s presidential campaign is scaling back, cutting one-third of its full-time staff and replacing his campaign manager as part of an effort to sustain itself, campaign spokesman R.C. Hammond told The Fix.

Gingrich has already replaced his top aide, Michael Krull, with Vince Haley, who had been deputy campaign manager and a policy advisor. In addition to the other staffing cuts, Gingrich will not travel as frequently to the remaining primary states and will instead focus on communicating with voters through the internet, videos and social media.

“We’re readying the campaign for the convention floor,” Hammond said, citing the campaign’s commitment to stay in the race until the end.

The news was first reported Tuesday by Politico’s Mike Allen.

The former House speaker has won just two states and is a distant third in the delegate count. His campaign has also seen a significant dropoff in fundraising and is strapped for cash. His recently filed campaign finance report, covering the period through the end of February, showed the candidate had more debt than cash.

“The money’s very tight, obviously,” Gingrich said during an appearance in Maryland on Tuesday. “We have the money to keep going.”

In addition, a super PAC supporting Gingrich that had received $16.5 million from casino magnate Sheldon Adelson and his family has largely run out of cash, with no indication that the Adelsons have continued to fund it.

In addition to having won just two states, Gingrich has seen some of his most lackluster performances in recent states. In the Illinois primary last week, for example, Gingrich finished in fourth place, behind Rep.Ron Paul (R-Texas), with just 8 percent of the vote.

Despite this, Gingrich has pledged to stay in the race until the August convention in Tampa, Fla., provided Mitt Romney doesn’t secure the nomination before then. Currently, Romney is on pace to win the nomination, securing a majority of the available delegates.

“If we get to June 26 and Gov. Romney does not have a majority, I think you’ll then have one of the most interesting open conventions in American history,” Gingrich said Tuesday.

It’s the second major shakeup for Gingrich’s campaign, but the first wasn’t by design. The campaign experienced a staff exodus in June when the former House speaker was floundering in the polls.
